Patient Case Details

When I met this woman in her 60s, she had already undergone two lumpectomies of her left breast.  Unfortunately, both times some breast cancer was left behind.  Her breast surgeon was hesitant to perform another lumpectomy, fearing it would deform the breast.  The patient, however, was adamant to keep her breast and did not want a mastectomy.  I was able to design a wise pattern of her breast that allowed for a large lumpectomy (to improve the odds of getting her entire tumor out) while reducing the risk of a deformity.  This resulted in a more elevated and smaller breast.  On the right side, I did a breast reduction for symmetry purposes.  Fortunately, using this approach we were able to remove her entire cancer while achieving an excellent aesthetic result.

Individual results may vary.
